What is a loading?

by Securitas on September 26, 2016

A loading is an added premium that is placed on your life insurance policy if you are seen to present a very high risk of claiming benefits in the future. Loadings are typically placed on life insurance policies if you have a pre-existing health condition or have a family history of serious illness that is significant enough to warrant an extra premium but not considered so risky that you need to be denied cover altogether.
